President Abdul Hamid today urged all to work together for building "Sonar Bangla" as was dreamt by Bangabandhu, by turning the grief of Jail killing into strength.
In a message on the occasion of Jail Killing Day, the President paid rich tribute to the memories of four national leaders Syed Nazrul Islam, Tajuddin Ahmed, Captain Mansur Ali and AHM Qamaruzzaman who were brutally killed in the safe custody of Dhaka Central Jail on November 3, 1975.
Abdul Hamid said anti-liberation forces killed the four national leaders as a continuation of the assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members to create vacuum in the national leadership for jeopardizing the independence and sovereignty of the country.
Terming jail killing as a black chapter of the country's history, the President said contributions of the four national leaders in the history of Bengali nation would be ever remembered.
The President also prayed for eternal peace of the departed souls of the four national leaders.
