Dhaka:President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has called for collective efforts to create a safe, discrimination-free, and nurturing environment for every child. He emphasized that the foundation for a prosperous, knowledge-based, and humane nation lies in ensuring children's healthy development, joyful childhood, quality education, and opportunities to cultivate their talents and creativity.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the President issued this message in observance of Children's Rights Day 2026 and the Golden Jubilee of the Bangladesh Shishu Academy, which will be celebrated tomorrow. He extended his greetings and best wishes to children and adolescents in Bangladesh and globally, noting that today's children are the country's future.

The President highlighted various government initiatives aimed at child protection, social security, and overall development. These include quality education, nutrition and healthcare, technical and technology-based training for school dropouts, and a child-friendly justice system. He stressed the importance of ensuring these services reach disadvantaged children, those with disabilities, and those from marginalized communities.

He also underscored the significance of sports in children's physical and mental growth, announcing plans to establish 'Sports Villages' in all 64 districts, introduce 'Sports Cards' and sports allowances, and relaunch the 'Natun Kuri Sports' program to identify talents at the grassroots level.

Mirza Fakhrul expressed that a balanced approach to education, culture, and sports would foster children's growth in knowledge, moral values, humanity, and patriotism. Reflecting on the Bangladesh Shishu Academy's 50-year journey, he acknowledged its vital role in developing children's talents through music, dance, painting, recitation, literature, and other creative activities.

The President conveyed his wishes for the success of all programs marking these occasions and expressed hope that every child in the world would lead a safe, joyful, and enlightened life.
