Police Recover and Return 84 Stolen Phones to Owners in Jhenaidah

Jhenaidah: Jhenaidah District Police returned 84 snatched and stolen mobile phone sets to owners at a function at the office of Superintendent of Police here.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Cyber Crime Investigation Cell of the District Detective Police successfully recovered these lost and stolen mobile phones from various criminals across different areas and returned them to their rightful owners.



‘Apart from this, the special team of the district police has also recovered Tk 64,000 lost to fraud and returned it to the rightful owner,’ stated Additional Superintendent of Police Imran Zakaria during the ceremony held at the Superintendent of Police’s office. This morning’s event highlighted the proactive measures taken by the police force in addressing issues of theft and fraud.



Police conducted special raids in different districts following complaints and general diary entries about snatched and stolen mobile phone sets, leading to their successful recovery. The effort demonstrated the effectiveness of coordinated police operations in tackling crime and restoring property to victims.



Sub Inspector (SI) Khalid Hasan and Assistant SI Ikhlachur Rahman Mithu of the Cyber Crime Investigation Cell were present at the ceremony, underscoring the dedicated efforts of the police unit. ASI Ikhlachur Rahman Mithu emphasized that the Cyber Crime Investigation Cell is committed to providing service and security to citizens through information technology.



Superintendent of Police Manzoor Morshed expressed the ongoing commitment of the police force, stating, ‘Our campaign to curb cyber crimes will continue. Our main goal is to ensure the safety of people.’ This pledge highlights the police department’s dedication to creating a safer environment for the community.
