Pohela Baishakh a Bright Component in National Identity: Tarique Rahman

Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has greeted the countrymen on the occasion of Bangla New Year, saying this day returns to the life of the nation again and again in various forms and variations. Noting that the New Year has an unbreakable relationship with the excitement of nature and the revival of life, he said, “Our culture and tradition are a strong foundation built since the distant past. Tradition, culture and human values ??together build a well-organized nation. Pohela Boishakh is a bright element in the identity of the nation.’



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Tarique Rahman said these in a post on his verified Facebook page on Sunday afternoon, highlighting the importance of Pohela Boishakh. Calling for optimism in the New Year, the BNP leader said, “Every year, Pohela Baishakh inspires us to move forward on the path of excellence in the future, inspired by the light of the past. The past glory and opulence of our nation are transmitted to our hearts.”



Highlighting the relevance of establishing democracy in the present time, Tarique Rahman stated the need for vibrant democracy. He emphasized the necessity of a liberal outlook among the people and the importance of ensuring the coexistence of many opinions based on culture and tradition.



In the context of ongoing instability and violence around the world, he remarked that the year 1431 has witnessed various incidents and accidents. As the nation stands at the dawn of the year 1432, he stressed that merely waiting for peace will not suffice; solutions must be selfless to end bloodshed and ensure peace.



Tarique Rahman also expressed concerns about foreign hegemonic powers moving forward with plans to spread cultural dominance, aiming to disrupt the longstanding bond of language and culture. He urged vigilance and awareness against such endeavors, encouraging people to shake off past disappointments and move forward with renewed enthusiasm.



Expressing hope for the nation to progress with new aspirations and goals on the occasion of Bengali New Year, Tarique Rahman wished everyone well-being and peace. He expressed a desire for untruth, injustice, lawlessness, and unrest to be erased from society with the warmth of Baishakh, and for peace to prevail. He concluded by extending his greetings and congratulations to the countrymen on the first light of the new dawn of the 1432 Bengali year.
