PM’s assistance program a humanitarian initiative: 14-party alliance

DHAKA,  Leaders of 14-party alliance have said Prime
Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken a humanitarian initiative to provide food
assistance and cash support for the poor and jobless people amid the ongoing
coronavirus pandemic.

In a joint statement issued today, they said providing food assistance and
cash support for the poor and jobless people is one of the important
decisions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The leaders said only a generous prime minister can take such programme.

They said Taka 2,500 in cash would be provided to poor and workless people
each before the Eid-ul-Fitr, which would give them a relief.

Expressing gratitude to the premier, they pledged to always stand by her in
any crisis.

Awami League presidium member and spokesman of 14-party alliance Mohammed
Nasim, Workers Party president Rashed Khan Menon, Bangladesh Jatiya
Samajtantrik Dal (Jasod) president Hasanul Haq Inu, Samyabadi Dal general
secretary Dilip Barua, Jatiya Party (JP) general secretary Sheikh Shahidul
Islam and AL central committee member Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya and
advocate Qamrul Islam, MP, among others, signed the statement.
