Trishal: Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman today urged the people to remain alert, saying that attempts were underway to create an anarchic situation in the country. ‘Attempts are underway to create an anarchic situation in the country. Stay alert,’ he said while addressing a gathering of BNP leaders and activists as well as villagers after inaugurating the re-excavation work of the ‘Dharar Khal’ in the Bailor area of Trishal in the district.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for vigilance against those who aim to disrupt the nation’s peace and progress. He highlighted that any anarchic situation could obstruct government development activities, putting the country’s people in jeopardy. Citing the recent murder of a child, Ramisa, in Pallabi, he stressed the importance of upholding the rule of law and ensuring justice within the parameters of established rules and regulations.

The Prime Minister expressed concern over efforts to create unrest by blocking roads, stopping vehicles, and setting fires, which he termed as hindrances to the rule of law. He recalled similar incidents during the interim government’s tenure and noted that those advocating for disorder now were absent in previous times of crisis.

Questioning the motives of those opposing the government, Tarique Rahman suggested that some groups were frustrated by the BNP’s victory in the February 12 election and were conspiring as a result. He called on the people to stay vigilant against those connected with past authoritarian regimes and their new allies, warning of potential chaos.

The Prime Minister reaffirmed the nation’s desire for progress and development, urging unity to harness the potential of Bangladesh’s population. He called on citizens to resist efforts to manipulate the country’s future and to support those working for the people’s welfare.

In his concluding remarks, Tarique Rahman stressed that the people are the true owners of the country and should not allow a few individuals to spread confusion and disrupt justice. He expressed confidence that Bangladeshis would stand with those dedicated to the nation’s prosperity and independence.

The event was also addressed by Disaster Management and Relief Minister Asadul Habib Dulu and local BNP leaders, with local lawmaker Mahbubur Rahman Liton presiding. The Prime Minister inaugurated the re-excavation programme by unveiling a plaque at the canal site.
