DHAKA, Law Minister Anisul Huq today said the country's people do not want any conflict, but they want peace and development.
now people are living in the country with peace. They need not beg to
others. We've achieved the status and must continue it, he said while
addressing the inaugural session of a daylong lawyers' conference here.
Ekattorer GhatakDalal Nirmul Committee (EGDNC) organised the conference
at the auditorium of Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB).
Chaired by first Chairmen of the International Crimes Tribunal Mohammed
Nizamul Huq Nassim, the conference was addressed, among others, by former
Chief Justice Md Tofazzal Islam, Justice Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik, Advocate
Ranadash Gupta and EGDNC President Shahriar Kabir.
Speaking at the conference, Anisul urged people to vote for Awami League in
the upcoming general election, showing thump to the antiliberation forces.
Bangabandhu's daughter, Sheikh Hasina, has made Bangladesh a role model
for development to the world, he said.
Under her dynamic leadership, Bangladesh will be a middleincome country
by 2021 and a developed one by 2041, the Law Minister said.
