The tragic accident took place in the unSabzak area along the highway connecting Qala-e-Naw, the provincial capital, with Herat province.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Sadiqullah Sadeqi, the spokesperson for the Badghis provincial police, confirmed the fatalities, which included women and children. The police, along with local residents, facilitated the transfer of the 35 injured individuals to nearby health facilities for medical attention. Concerns persist as several of the wounded remain in critical condition, potentially increasing the death toll.

Road accidents are a frequent occurrence in Afghanistan, primarily attributed to reckless driving, congested roads, and inadequate signage on damaged highways. These factors continue to contribute significantly to fatalities in the conflict-ridden country.
