Dhaka: Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed announced potential changes at the top level of the police administration. ‘Some changes will come, but it will take some time,’ he informed reporters at the Secretariat following a courtesy meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office.

According to United News of Bangladesh, Salahuddin addressed the upcoming session of the Jatiya Sangsad, stating that the President’s notification for convening the session must be issued at least 15 days in advance. The procedure involves sending a summary from the Parliament Secretariat to the Prime Minister’s Office, then to the President for approval. The session is scheduled to be convened on 12 March after consultations between the President and the Prime Minister.

Salahuddin, who is also a Standing Committee member of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, mentioned that the meeting covered the agenda for the forthcoming session. All ordinances issued during the interim government will be presented before parliament. As is customary, a proposal will be made, and the President will deliver a speech, alongside other regular parliamentary matters.

In response to inquiries, Salahuddin noted that there has been no discussion regarding the election of a new President or Speaker. He also addressed a reported terrorist incident in Mohammadpur, stating he has initiated an investigation and requested a report on the matter. ‘If such incidents occur, we will take strict action,’ he asserted.
