Dhaka: More than 1,000 running enthusiasts from Bangladesh and other countries are set to participate in the international half marathon “One Run,” scheduled to be held in Hatirjheel, Dhaka tomorrow. The event marks the second consecutive year it is being organized in Bangladesh by GamePlay Limited, under the global initiative of “One Run” by the Russian Hero League.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, participants will compete across four race categories: 1 km, 5 km, 10 km, and 21.1 km half marathon. This structure allows both beginners and experienced runners to take part. The race will route through Hatirjheel, covering key city landmarks such as Police Plaza, Rampura bridge, Lake Road, and FDC, with the starting point, finish line, and fan zone located in the Amphitheatre area of Hatirjheel.

A group from the Russian community living in Bangladesh, along with citizens from other countries, will join this event. It offers a chance to spend an active weekend with family or friends or meet like-minded individuals, whether they are experiencing their first official race or aiming to set a personal record.

Simultaneously, the event will take place in 38 countries, including Russia, China, Brazil, Venezuela, Serbia, Belarus, Tanzania, Malaysia, Nepal, Thailand, Morocco, Tunisia, Kazakhstan, Maldives, Chile, and Armenia. Globally, more than 250,000 participants are expected to join under the shared slogan, “One Run, One Goal, One World.” The event in Bangladesh is sponsored by Chuti and powered by Duronto Sports Gallery.

After the race, the closing and prize-giving ceremony will be held at Hatirjheel Amphitheater. State Minister of Youth and Sports Md Aminul Haque is anticipated to be present as the chief guest. The presence of youth icon and sports patron Zaima Rahman, daughter of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh, along with the ambassadors from Russia and Malaysia, will add excitement to the occasion.
