Bogura: A man was killed in a road accident in the Majhira Port area under Shajahanpur upazila of the district today. The deceased was Mirajul Islam, 25, son of Hazel Mia, a resident of Gaynakuri village of the upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident occurred when a speeding truck hit a standing rickshaw on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway around 11 a.m., leaving rickshaw puller Mirajul dead on the spot. Azizul Islam, in-charge of Sherpur Highway Police Camp, confirmed the incident.
Police recovered the body and handed it over to the family members after completing the legal process. A case was filed in this connection.
