Lakshmipur: A man was killed in a road accident in Hazirhat area of Sadar upazila here this morning. The deceased was Monir Hossain, 45, a raw material trader and son of Khorshed Alam, a resident of Ramgati upazila.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident took place on the Lakshmipur-Ramgati road around 7 am when a pickup van collided head-on with another pickup van. The collision resulted in the immediate death of Monir Hossain, who was a passenger in one of the vans. Officer-in-Charge of Kamalnagar Police Station, Md. Touhidul Islam, confirmed the details of the incident.
Monir Hossain was on his way to Ramgati in a pickup van after purchasing goods from Piarapur Market in Sadar upazila. The police have recovered his body and sent it to Sadar hospital morgue for further procedures.
