Objective of Independence Highlighted by President Shahabuddin

Dhaka: President Mohammed Shahabuddin has emphasized that the primary objectives of independence were securing political and economic freedom, establishing a society devoid of exploitation, and reinforcing the empowerment and dignity of every citizen.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, President Shahabuddin, in a message ahead of the Great Independence and National Day, stressed the importance of realizing the unfulfilled aspirations of independence by ensuring equality, good governance, transparency, and accountability at all levels of the state and society. He highlighted it as a sacred duty to build a safe, prosperous, and compassionate Bangladesh for future generations.



President Shahabuddin extended warm greetings to his fellow countrymen, both at home and abroad, marking the solemn occasion as the nation’s greatest achievement. He paid tribute to the valiant martyrs of the War of Liberation, acknowledging their supreme sacrifice in securing independence. He also honored Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, Bir Uttam, along with freedom fighters, national leaders, and countless individuals who contributed significantly to the historic struggle for freedom.



The President remarked that the sacrifices of the freedom fighters inspire continued progress toward a modern Bangladesh founded on equality, justice, democracy, and human dignity. He noted ongoing challenges due to prolonged misgovernance, global economic issues, and energy crises, emphasizing the government’s commitment to addressing these challenges with sincerity and competence while striving towards a self-reliant, dynamic, and just nation.



President Shahabuddin called for strong national unity, mutual empathy, and patriotism, urging all citizens, irrespective of party or opinion, to collaborate in building a secure and productive Bangladesh for present and future generations. He expressed his wishes for the success of all programs commemorating this historic day.
