Dhaka: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin today stated that election officials will not receive any unlawful instructions in the 13th National Parliament election, emphasizing that directives will not be given to favor any individual or party.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the CEC made these remarks while addressing the ‘Election Officers Conference 2025’ at the Nirbachan Bhaban in Agargaon, organized by the Bangladesh Election Commission Officers Association. During the event, four election commissioners and the EC secretary participated as special guests.

Nasir Uddin underscored the importance of lawful conduct, asserting, “We will give you (polls officials) directives during the election, but we will not provide any unlawful instruction. Our instructions will be completely in accordance with the law and rules.” He emphasized the necessity of ensuring that the election officials perform their duties correctly.

He also mentioned that the Chief Adviser is currently in the United States for the United Nations General Assembly session, where he met with leaders of various countries and expressed optimism for a fair and historic election in Bangladesh. The CEC highlighted the Chief Adviser’s confidence in the Election Commission and stressed the need to uphold this trust and deliver a successful election. “No matter what you have done in the past, we have to prove that we can do this. I am sure that with your cooperation, we will be able to hold a good election . . . Insha Allah,” Nasir Uddin concluded.
