Bhola: National Citizen Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam today declared that the ‘autocratic’ regime of Sheikh Hasina has been removed, emphasizing there will be no room for new dictatorship in Bengal soil. He expressed these views at a street rally concluding the NCP’s July March program at the Press Club premises in the town.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Nahid vowed to establish a discrimination-free, justice-based Bangladesh, where extortion, rape, and looting have no place. He criticized the deprivation faced by the people of Bhola, highlighting that despite being a gas-rich town, Bhola’s residents are denied this resource, which is distributed to other districts.

Nahid also paid homage to the 57 martyrs of Bhola who perished during the July Mass Uprising, noting that Bhola had the highest number of martyrs in the uprising. He assured the people of Bhola that the NCP stands with them against such discrimination.

Addressing issues in Bhola, Nahid highlighted the poor healthcare standards and inadequate communication systems, pledging to transform Bhola into a beautiful and prosperous district. The event was chaired by NCP’s Bhola district convener Mehedi Hasan Sharif and moderated by Maksudur Rahman. Other speakers included Chief Organizer (Northern Region) Sarjis Alam and Chief Organizer (Southern Region) Hasnat Abdullah, among others.

The event commenced with a march led by NCP central and district leaders from Kalinath Roy’s Bazar area in Bhola town, concluding at the Press Club premises.
