Khulna: Khulna Deputy Commissioner Hoore Jannat today announced that no makeshift cattle markets will be permitted on roads in anticipation of the upcoming holy Eid-ul-Azha. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deputy commissioner also directed UNOs to ensure that vehicles transporting sacrificial animals do not contribute to traffic jams around cattle markets. Additionally, she instructed the health department to maintain adequate stocks of rabies and measles vaccines. Addressing water management issues, Hoore Jannat emphasized the importance of prioritizing river dredging and canal excavation works, cautioning against any irregularities in the submission of progress reports related to canal excavation activities.
