Nine Shops Gutted in Lakshmipur Fire

Lakshmipur: Nine shops were gutted in a devastating fire at Zamindar Hat in Ramgati Upazila of the district today. Eyewitnesses reported that the fire originated from the tea shop of Mohammad Arif and rapidly spread to nearby shops.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, fire service personnel responded promptly upon receiving information about the blaze. They managed to bring the fire under control after a two-hour effort, with significant assistance from locals. The fire caused extensive damage, affecting a variety of businesses including a wholesale electrical goods shop, a pharmacy, a CNG mechanic shop, a salon, and the originating tea shop.

Ramgati Fire Service Inspector Md. Zakir Hossain stated that an investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of the fire. In addition, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Syed Amjad Hossain mentioned that a project officer has been tasked with compiling a list of the affected businessmen and homeowners. "Financial assistance will be provided if an allocation is received according to the list," he added.
