Next election will be free, fair: Nanak

Awami League (AL) Presidium Member Jahangir Kabir Nanak today said that upcoming general election would be free, fair and neutral in the country.

“We won’t allow any conspiracy with election,” he told a discussion of the 48th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day in city’s Adabar area, organized by Dhaka city north AL.

Nanak said the upcoming general election would be held in time as per country’s constitution.

BNP has been conspiring to thwart the national election but this time it would be given a befitting reply if it tries to resort to arson attacks in the name of movements, he added.

Dhaka city north AL President Sheikh Bazlur Rahman, Sadek Khan, MP, organizing Secretary Azizul Haque Rana, Adabar Thana Jubo League’s convener Arifur Rahman Tuhin and Dhaka city north Chhatra League President Reaz Mahmud, among others, spoke it.

Adabar Thana unit of AL President MA Mannan presided over the meeting while its General Secretary Salauddin Shamim moderated the function.
