Dhaka: National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Organizer for the Southern Region, Hasnat Abdullah, announced the party’s readiness to support a credible national election, emphasizing the need to eliminate partisan influences over administrative and state institutions.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Hasnat Abdullah addressed a coordination meeting involving the Dhaka City North, Dhaka City South, and Dhaka District units at Shahid Abu Sayed International Convention Centre. He underscored the NCP’s commitment to restoring democracy through an impartial election. Abdullah criticized the prevalent culture of political power-sharing and administrative division among parties, asserting that such practices must cease for a fair election to take place.

The meeting was also attended by prominent NCP figures, including Member Secretary Akhter Hossain, Senior Joint Convent Ariful Islam Adeeb, Chief Organizer for the Northern Region Sarjis Alam, Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary, and Senior Joint Chief Coordinator Abdul Hannan Masud, who addressed the gathering.

Hasnat Abdullah urged not to judge the NCP by its numerical strength or street presence, highlighting that true political power stems from moral conviction and public trust. He warned of potential manipulation in the upcoming election, similar to the disputed outcomes of 2014, 2018, and 2024, and accused a political group of using its influence over banks, businesses, and school committees to prepare polling agents.

He expressed concern over the coercion of teachers and the use of school committees for political purposes, warning that such tactics threaten the integrity of the electoral process. Hasnat Abdullah also alluded to conspiracies aimed at determining electoral results and called upon patriotic members of the armed forces to support the people. He emphasized the NCP’s resilience, stating that members would not be deterred by threats or violence.

Hasnat encouraged party activists to be self-reliant and conduct politics with their own resources, urging those motivated by power to leave the party. He reaffirmed the NCP’s mission to build a fair and discrimination-free Bangladesh, pledging to continue the journey towards a just and equal nation.
