Dhaka: The Bangladesh national women’s football team departed today for Jordan to participate in two international FIFA friendly matches during the official FIFA Women’s International Match Window. The team aims to gain valuable experience and test their skills against higher-ranked opponents.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Bangladesh will face Indonesia on May 31 for their first match, followed by a second game against hosts Jordan on June 3. Both Indonesia and Jordan are ranked higher than Bangladesh, presenting a challenging opportunity for the team to measure their progress and readiness ahead of future competitions.
The friendly matches in Jordan are a crucial part of the team’s preparations for the upcoming AFC Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers. In this tournament, Bangladesh will be competing against Myanmar, Bahrain, and Turkmenistan. The experience gained from these friendlies is expected to bolster the team’s performance in the qualifiers.
