DHAKA: The government has announced the appointment of new Deputy Commissioners (DCs) for the districts of Narayanganj and Kushtia, marking a significant administrative reshuffling in these regions. The Ministry of Public Administration released a gazette notification detailing the changes, which take effect immediately.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the notification indicates that Md Towfiqur Rahman, who has been serving as the Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Kushtia, is now transferred to Narayanganj to assume the role of DC and District Magistrate there. This move is part of a broader effort to streamline district administration and improve governance.
In addition, Shamim Ara Rini, who has been working as the secretary of the Gazipur City Corporation in the capacity of Deputy Secretary, has been appointed as the new Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Kushtia. The appointments are expected to bring fresh perspectives and leadership to the respective districts, enhancing their administrative capabilities and service delivery.
