Dhaka: Posts and Telecommunications and Information Technology Adviser Md Nahid Islam today called on ministry officials to prioritize effective projects that can be implemented swiftly during the interim government's term, ensuring equitable benefits for all. He emphasized the importance of undertaking smaller projects that provide equal advantages to everyone, rather than focusing on large-scale initiatives. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Nahid, who also serves as an advisor to the information and broadcasting ministry, issued these directives while addressing the 24th meeting of the Social Obligation Fund (SOF) management committee at the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC). The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss in detail the current status of ongoing projects under the SOF. The provisions of the Social Obligatory Fund, 2021, were highlighted during the meeting as a means to expand telecommunication and ICT services to underprivileged populations, ensuring they h ave access to necessary facilities. Secretary to the Posts and Telecommunication Department Dr. Md Mushfiqur Rahman, BTRC Chairman Major General (retd) Md Emdad Ul Bari, and various project directors were also in attendance, contributing to the discussions on optimizing the use of the fund for equitable development.
