Sylhet: Pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman created a record of winning the most matches for Bangladesh in T20 format after his side registered a comprehensive eight-wicket victory over Netherlands on Saturday at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, this was Mustafizur’s 53rd victory in 112 matches for Bangladesh. He contributed in the victory with typically economical bowling effort that saw him snap up one wicket for just 19 runs in four overs.
Mustafizur, adorably called as ‘The Fizz’, overtook ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who held the top spot by grabbing 52 victories in 129 matches with Bangladesh’s jersey.
Liton Das, with 108 matches, and Mahmudullah Riyad, with 149 matches, registered 49 wins in this format, while Mushfiqur Rahim, who played 102 matches, saw victory in 37 matches. Tamim Iqbal had 23 wins after playing 74 T20Is.
