DHAKA, Around 88 percent of dengue patients, who have been admitted to hospitals across the country, have returned home after recovery, due to the prompt steps taken by government. A total of 54,797 dengue patients reported to different hospitals.
The number of dengue patients was falling in hospitals across the country. The number was expected not to rise in future. The number of Dengue patients fell 7 pc in Dhaka and 5 pc outside Dhaka in the last 24 hours.
This number is declining because of various measures of the Health Department and massive awareness of the people, said the Disease Control and Line Director of DGHS Dr. Sania Tahmina at a press conference today.
A total of 1,615 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours.
Among the 1, 615 patients, 757 were admitted in Dhaka while 858 were admitted to hospitals outside the city.
However, 40 people died from the disease during the current year.
A total of 3,419 patients were currently under treatment in the 40 public and private hospitals in Dhaka and 3,314 were admitted in hospitals outside the city.
According to the DGHS release in the last 24 hours, 122 patients were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, 81 to Mitford Hospital, 24 to Dhaka Shishu Hospital, 75 to Shaheed Suhrawardy hospital, 40 to BSMMU, 18 to Rajarbagh Police Hospital, 73 to Mugda Medical College Hospital, 5 to BGB Hospital Pilkhana, 14 to Combined Military Hospital, 54 to Kurmitola General Hospital and two in other hospitals.
The number of Dengue patients admitted to different hospitals in Dhaka Division (outside Dhaka city) was 219, in Chattogram Division it was 152, in Khulna Division it was 145, in Rangpur Division it was 31, in Rajshahi Division it was 95, in Barishal Division it was 155, in Sylhet Division it was 15 and in Mymensingh Division it was 46.
