Sirajdikhan: Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today stated that miscreants had attempted to disrupt the Durga Puja celebrations under outside influence, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Home Adviser made these remarks during his visit to the Durga Puja mandap at Isapura in Sirajdikhan this afternoon. He emphasized that the attempts to create instability during the festival, driven by external influences, were thwarted.
The adviser highlighted that at the beginning of the puja, rumors were spread regarding a rape incident to incite unrest among the attendees. However, these attempts to disturb the peace were unsuccessful, ensuring the celebrations continued smoothly.
“This year, Durga Puja has been celebrated with full festivity across the country,” said Chowdhury, expressing gratitude to everyone involved in ensuring the event’s success. His visit was attended by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shahina Akhter, Puja Udhjapan Parishad President Badal Pal, and other local dignitaries.
