Minister Sharma calls for digitalization of Gorkhapatra publications

Biratnagar: Minister for Communications and Information Technology Rekha Sharma has said that the publications of Gorkhapatra Sansthan, a historical and crucial media house of the country, should be digitalized.

Minister Sharma said so during an inspection of the Biratnagar Office of Gorkhapatra Sansthan. She added that Gorkhapatra, which carries the history and legacy should be developed in line with the new technology.

The state-owned media houses should share the government’s achievements to the people and act as a bridge to bring people’s issues to the government, Minister Sharma said.

She also asked the officials of Gorkhapatra Sansthan to disseminate the government’s performance to the people in a more systematic way and suggested that Gorkhapatra Sansthan should attract readers through its special write-ups and editorials.

The Gorkhapatra Sansthan should employ skilled human resources and should creatively offer its contents by incorporating Nepal’s diverse costumes and cultures.

On the occasion,
Chairman of Gorkhapatra Sansthan Bishnu Prasad Subedi, General Manager Lal Bahadur Airi and other officials expressed their commitment for maintaining professionalism of the publications.
