Kathmandu: Birgunj United has defeated Kathmandu Rayzrs in the match held today under Nepal Super League (NSL) football tournament.
In the match held at Dasharath Stadium, Tripureswar, Birgunj defeated Kathmandu by 4-1. For the winners, William Opoku scored a hat-trick while Sunil Khadka scored one goal.
For Kathmandu, Nkengue Juniour scored one goal.
However, Kathmandu took the first lead in the game, with the goal by Juniour in the 21st minute of the game. In the extra time of the first half of the game, Birgunj got a penalty, which was converted by Opoku.
Similarly, in the second half of the game, Birgunj scored three more goals. Sunil Khadka scored in the first minute of the second half while Opoku scored two goals to complete his hat trick in the 56th and 57th minutes of the game.
With this win, Birgunj has scored eight points in seven games, rising to sixth position in the points table.
Similarly, after today’s loss Kathmandu remains in fifth place with nine points in seven games.
