Milon Seeks More UK Scholarship for Bangladeshi Students

Dhaka: Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon has called for an increase in scholarships for Bangladeshi students pursuing higher studies in the United Kingdom. The request was made during a meeting with a delegation led by British Deputy High Commissioner James Goldman at the Bangladesh Secretariat.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting was attended by State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj and Adviser for the Education and Primary and Mass Education Mahdi Amin. During the discussion, Dr. Milon expressed gratitude to the UK government for its ongoing support in Bangladesh's education sector and other areas.

The minister highlighted the significant role played by the British Council in enhancing English language education in Bangladesh. He expressed hope that the bilateral relations and cooperation between Bangladesh and the UK would continue to grow.

James Goldman acknowledged the initiatives undertaken by the Bangladesh government in the education and other sectors. The meeting was also attended by Mohammad Golam Kabir from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office of the UK, British Council Country Director Stephen Forbes, and Head of English and School Education Deepti Das.
