Memorial Meeting Honors July-August Uprising Martyrs in Tangail.

Tangail: A memorial meeting was held at the conference room of the deputy commissioner (DC) office here today, commemorating the martyrs and the injured of the July-August mass uprising. Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sharifa Haque addressed the function as the chief guest. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Superintendent of Police (SP) Md. Saiful Islam Santu, Deputy Director of Local Government of the district Md. Shihab Raihan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Ziaul Islam Chowdhury, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) A M Zahirul Hayat, and Army Captain Ahnaf Ridwan were among other speakers at the event. The speakers emphasized the significance of the July-August anti-discrimination student movement as an important part of history. They noted that the current government supports the families of those who lost their lives and those who were injured during the mass uprising. The event was attended by student representatives of the anti-discrimination movement, as well as the injure d and family members of the martyrs.
