The chief guest, Raj Kumar Biswas, highlighted the media’s role in creating societal awareness by shaping public opinion, which in turn contributes to the establishment of a developed nation. He urged media workers to diligently verify the authenticity of sources before publishing or presenting any news.

Md Farhad Ahmed elaborated on how media shapes public opinion by delivering objective news, which raises public awareness and leads to positive societal changes. He noted a decline in issues such as child marriage, dowry, drug addiction, online betting, and other criminal activities, attributing this to the media’s influence.

Ahmed further stated that media reports on corruption, social inequality, climate change, and rumors prompt the government and the state to engage more effectively. He called for media workers to act responsibly in their professional duties.

The participating journalists underscored the necessity of enacting a journalist protection law to ensure their safety, especially when reporting on sensitive topics like child marriage, rape, online gambling, and drugs. They also advocated for the publication of public interest information on government websites to facilitate the free flow of information.
