Mauritius president pays homage to Bangabandhu

Visiting Mauritius President Prithvirajsing Roopun today paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by placing wreaths at his portrait at Dhanmondi Road No. 32 in the capital.

Saima Wazed, Bangabandhu's granddaughter and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's daughter, received the Mauritius president on his arrival at the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum this afternoon.

After placing of wreaths, Saima Wazed took Prithvirajsing Roopun to different parts of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum containing various belongings and portraits of Bangabandhu and his family members.

The Mauritius president was apprised of the bloodstained history of the birth of Bangladesh and Bangabandhu's life and struggle.

He also paid homage to the memories of the martyr family members of Bangabandhu who were brutally killed on August 15, 1975.

Later, the Mauritius president wrote his comments in the visitors' book.

Earlier in the morning today, Prithvirajsing Roopun arrived in Dhaka on a four-day official visit to join the 'Sixth Indian Ocean Conference 2023' hosted by Bangladesh as well as bilateral programmes.
