JOYPOURHAT: A man was killed and two others were injured in a road accident in the Guabari Ghat area of Sadar upazila. The incident occurred this morning when two motorbikes collided head-on, resulting in critical injuries to three individuals.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased was identified as Delwar Hossain, 35. He was the son of Mafej Uddin from Teghra-Dandapani village in the upazila. Delwar was a notable community member, serving as a member of the Joypurhat Sadar Upazila Jamaat's Karma Parishad and as president of the Bangladesh Workers' Welfare Federation, Sadar Upazila unit.
Sahed Al-Mamun, officer-in-charge of Joypurhat Sadar police station, reported that the injured were immediately transported to Joypurhat General Hospital, where Delwar succumbed to his injuries. The accident has drawn attention to road safety concerns in the region. Police investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the collision and any potential violations of traffic regulations.
