Khulna: A two-day training programme commenced today at Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) to enhance the skills and capabilities of law enforcement officers for the upcoming election duties. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the training was inaugurated at KMP Lines by Commissioner Md Sazzadur Rahman. He emphasized that police have specific legal responsibilities during elections, which include maintaining a secure and conducive environment for voters. The commissioner described the training as a "recap" of the knowledge and experience that police officers have accumulated throughout their careers.
The workshop will cover various topics crucial for election duties, including election laws, inter-agency coordination, prevention of election violence, the electoral code of conduct, polling-centre security, and the use of body-worn cameras. Commissioner Rahman urged participants to approach the sessions with seriousness and expressed hope that the training would enhance their effectiveness in performing election-related duties.
