Gaibandha: Families of those killed and injured in road accidents in the district have received financial assistance totaling Taka 76 lakh from the Trustee Board of the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) to help ease their financial hardship. The cheques were handed over at a programme held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office here this afternoon.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the district administration and the Gaibandha Circle of the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) jointly organised the programme. Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Dr Md Moniruzzaman, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Sharif Al Rajib, PPM, Assistant Director of BRTA Gaibandha Circle Faisal Hasan and Motor Vehicle Inspector Md Kamal Ahmed Kajol, among others, were present.
At the programme, the families of 14 people killed in road accidents each received Taka 5 lakh, totalling Taka 70 lakh. Besides, two seriously injured persons were provided Tk 3 lakh each, amounting to Taka 6 lakh.
