Khulna City Jubo Dal Launches Tree Plantation Drive in Multiple Wards

Dhaka: Leaders and activists of Khulna city unit of Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal carried out a large-scale tree plantation programme in several city wards on Wednesday as part of a nationwide campaign initiated following a call by BNP Chairman and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. The programme was implemented in wards 8, 10, 11, 15, 17, 19, 25, 26, and 30, where leaders and activists planted various species of fruit-bearing, timber, and medicinal trees.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Khulna city BNP General Secretary Shafiqul Islam Tuhin attended the Ward 25 programme as the chief guest, while Organising Secretary Chowdhury Asanur Rashid Miraj was the chief guest at the Ward 30 programme. Khulna city Jubo Dal Convener Abdul Aziz Sumon took part in the plantation programmes in the other wards. Member Secretary Rabiul Islam Rubel attended as a special guest, with Joint Conveners Amin Ahmed Mithu and Golam Julkar Nain, along with local BNP and Jubo Dal leaders, activists, and residents, also participating.

Ward-level Jubo Dal leaders supervised the plantation activities in their respective areas. Speakers emphasized that the initiative aimed to help maintain ecological balance, mitigate the adverse impacts of climate change, and contribute to building a greener, cleaner, and more livable Bangladesh. They highlighted that Jubo Dal activists have been participating in environmental conservation and various social welfare activities under the guidance of Tarique Rahman, asserting that tree plantation is not merely a campaign but a commitment to ensuring a safe and healthy environment for future generations.

The leaders also expressed their determination to continue similar environment-friendly and public welfare programmes in the future.
