Heavy Rainfall Expected in Barishal and Chattogram

Dhaka: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in parts of Barishal and Chattogram divisions as rain and thundershowers are expected across the country in the next 24 hours from 9am today, said the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a weather bulletin issued this morning indicates that light to moderately heavy rain and thundershowers, accompanied by temporary gusty winds, are likely at most places over Khulna, Barishal, and Chattogram divisions. Many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, and Sylhet divisions may also experience similar weather conditions.

The bulletin highlighted that heavy to very heavy rainfall is anticipated at specific locations within the Barishal and Chattogram divisions. Despite these weather developments, day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged throughout the country.

On Tuesday, the highest temperature was recorded at 33.8 degrees Celsius in Sreemangal, while today's lowest temperature was 23.5 degrees Celsius in Sylhet. Over the past 24 hours, Hatiya witnessed the highest rainfall, measuring 50 millimetres.

For those in Dhaka, the sun is scheduled to set at 6:47pm today and rise again at 5:23am tomorrow.
