DHAKA, The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Local Government, Rural Development (LGRD) and Co-operatives Ministry today recommended the two Dhaka city corporations to procure quality larvicide to eradicate mosquito menace in the city.
The committee recommended the Dhaka north and sought city corporations to take strong measures to eradicate mosquito menace in the city areas by procuring quality larvicide through a fresh tender, if needed, said an official release here.
The committee made the recommendation at its 21st meeting held at the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban with its Chairman Abul Hasanat Abdullah in the chair, the release added.
Committee members LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Eng. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Rajiuddin Ahmed Raju, Saber Hossain Chowdhury, A.K.M. Mostafizur Rahman and Fazle Hossain Badsha attended the meeting.
The committee also recommended taking initiatives to realize holding taxes from the areas being included in the city corporations and ensure minimum civic amenities for the dwellers.
Senior officials of LGRD and cooperatives ministry and other officials concerned were present at the meeting.
