Dhaka: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman today announced that his party aims to establish an inclusive government and foster friendly relations with all nations, including neighboring countries, should they secure a mandate to form the government.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Rahman emphasized the importance of collaboration with all political parties in both forming and administering the government. He highlighted the necessity of engaging with significant global and regional partners to drive national progress. During a press briefing at the chief election office of Dhaka-15 constituency, he stressed that no country could thrive in isolation.

Dr. Rahman referred to the ongoing vote counting process, noting that preliminary results showed the 11-party alliance candidates leading in numerous constituencies. He urged patience, advising against premature conclusions and affirming that major irregularities were absent from the voting process, which concluded without significant disruptions.

The Jamaat chief highlighted the involvement of expatriate voters as a positive development, acknowledging their limited participation but recognizing it as a step towards ensuring their voting rights and broader recognition. He praised expatriates for their contributions to the national economy and policy-making, acknowledging their role in shaping the party’s manifesto and policy papers, and he paid homage to their support during the July mass uprising.

Dr. Rahman called for a responsible and independent media landscape, advocating for constructive criticism to guide potential future governance. He noted the importance of highlighting positive achievements and addressing mistakes fairly.

Expressing gratitude towards the voters for their peaceful participation despite prior concerns, Dr. Rahman reiterated his commitment to working with all candidates, including his rivals, for the development and welfare of his constituency. He described the electoral victory as a collective success that should benefit the entire community.
