Italy observes birth centenary of Bangabandhu

The Embassy of Bangladesh in Rome, Italy celebrated the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Children’s Day today with great enthusiasm.

It arranged various programmes on the digital platform.

The programmes included the official hoisting of the national flag, placing wreaths at the portrait of the Father of the Nation, observing one minute silence in memory of the Father of the Nation and the heroic martyrs of the Liberation War, offering prayers and munajat and holding drawing competition.

The day’s programme began with the hoisting of the national flag in the morning. Besides, the national anthem was also played there.

After the special prayers and munajat, the messages of the President and the Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and State Minister for Foreign Affairs were read out in the meeting room of the embassy.

Then a graphic novel on the colorful life of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was displayed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs there.
