Iranian Parliamentary delegation calls on Liberation War Affairs Minister

DHAKA, April 4, 2017 (BSS) - A parliamentary delegation of Islamic Republic of Iran led by Gholamali Jafarzadeh today called on Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haq at his ministry on the sideline of 136th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) conference here.

Ambassador of Iran in Bangladesh Dr Abbas Vaezi and Secretary of the Liberation War Affairs Ministry M Mahmud Reza Khan and officials of the Iran embassy in Bangladesh, among others, were present.

Praising the security arrangement and the hospitality of Bangladesh in the IPU conference, Gholamali Jafarzadeh said both Bangladesh and Iran have come to this stage through overcoming the terrific experience of war.

So, these two countries have opportunities of economic and social development by exchanging experience of their own, he added.

The Liberation War Affairs Minister told the Iranian parliamentary delegation that Pakistan had carried out false propaganda throughout the world against Bangladesh during the liberation war.

And that's why, Bangladesh had to suffer in getting support from different countries during the war, he added. Claiming that Pakistan is still continuing its false propaganda against Bangladesh, Haq said despite all those propaganda and conspiracy, Bangladesh is progressing ahead. The minister sought overall friendly cooperation of Iran for the development purpose.

During the call on, they informed each other about the initiative of their respective government on various welfare issues like history of war, preservation of war-related establishments and welfare of the freedom fighters.
