Interim Govt’s Commitment to Hold Election: AFM Khalid

Bandarban: Religious Affairs Adviser Dr AFM Khalid today affirmed that the interim government is committed to conducting the general election in the country. “The Chief Adviser has already made an announcement about the general election and the polls will be held as per his declaration,” he informed journalists after inaugurating the construction of the District Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Centre. The event was organized by the Local Muslim Welfare Association.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr Khalid emphasized that the model mosque and cultural centre will contribute positively to moral development and the establishment of values. He stated that increased mosque attendance would correlate with a reduction in crime, as the holy Quran mentions that namaz protects individuals from vulgarity.



The event was attended by Additional Secretary of the ministry Mohammad Abdul Awal Hawlader, Chairman of CHT District Board Prof Thanjama Lusai, Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ara Rini, Police Super Shahidullah Kawser, Administrator of local pourashava SM Manjurul Haque, and Deputy Director of the Islamic Foundation.



The government has allocated Taka 16 crore for the construction of the district model mosque and Islamic cultural centre at Meghla Parjaton Area.
