Interim Government Achieves 83.46% Implementation Rate on Decisions

Dhaka: Since the interim government assumed office in August 2024, it has made significant strides by taking 526 decisions and issuing 116 ordinances, with 439 decisions already implemented, reflecting an implementation rate of 83.46 percent.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam provided details of the government’s performance during a briefing at the Foreign Service Academy. He stated that between August 8, 2024, and January 31, 2026, the interim government held 68 regular weekly meetings, chaired by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus. Of the 526 decisions made, 439 have been implemented.



The press secretary highlighted that during this period, 116 ordinances were issued, with 16 still under process. Of these, three have received policy-level approval. Additionally, the government undertook 30 policy-related instruments, including policies, guidelines, strategies, and action plans. Of these, 16 have been signed or ratified, while 14 are still under implementation.



Furthermore, the interim government has entered into 14 bilateral agreements during this timeframe. Shafiqul Alam noted that the implementation rate is notably high compared to previous governments and emphasized that the ordinances involved substantive reforms with potential transformative impacts on the lives of the people of Bangladesh.



The briefing was attended by Chief Adviser’s Deputy Press Secretary Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad Majumder, Senior Assistant Press Secretary Foyez Ahammad, and Assistant Press Secretary Shuchismita Tithi.
