Dhaka: International Master Aaryan Varshney of India maintained his solo lead in the points table with six points after the seventh round of the Leonine 3rd Grandmasters Chess tournament held at the Leonine Chess Club today (Friday).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, International Master Manon Reja Neer and Grandmaster Nguyen Duc Hoa of Vietnam are jointly following the leader with 4.5 points each. The competition is shaping up with intense matches as participants vie for top positions.
International Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman holds the 3rd position with four points, showcasing competitive skills among the participants. The tournament has seen strategic gameplay and intense rivalries as players aim for excellence.
In the seventh round matches today, IM Aaryan Varshney defeated Grandmaster Reefat Bin Sattar, demonstrating his continued dominance in the tournament. Meanwhile, IM Manon Reja Neer secured a victory over IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman, and IM Abu Sufian Shakil outclassed FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia. GM Nguyen Duc Hoa also claimed a win against FIDE Master Sakline Mostafa Sajid, adding to the excitement of the tournament.
