Dhaka: The expulsion orders of 56 leaders from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its associated organizations have been officially revoked. These leaders, who were previously removed from their primary membership and all positions for violating party discipline, have now been reinstated, according to a party press release issued today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the leaders whose expulsions have been revoked include prominent figures such as Faizul Kabir Talukder, the former general secretary of Zia Nagar upazila BNP in Pirojpur district, Md. Enamul Haque Dulal, senior joint convener of Betagi poura BNP in Barguna district, and Md. Shafi Khan, a former member of the Tangail district BNP. Others reinstated are Md. Mahbubur Rahman Bachchu, a former member of Tongibari upazila Chatra Dal in Munshiganj district, and Fayez Ahmed Liton, a member of the central Sramik Dal.
The withdrawal of expulsion orders also extends to several former leaders from a variety of districts, including Cumilla, Faridpur, Brahmanbaria, Rajshahi, Natore, Sherpur, Habiganj, Sunamganj, Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Rangamati, Gazipur, Sylhet, Patuakhali, and Bhola. These individuals held various roles such as vice presidents, general secretaries, senior joint secretaries, organizing secretaries, members, and conveners within the BNP and its wings like Jubo Dal, Mohila Dal, Krishak Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, and Sramik Dal.
Additionally, the suspension order of Md. Shahjada, the former general secretary of ward no-3 Amragachhia union BNP under the Mirzaganj upazila in Patuakhali district, has also been lifted. The decision to revoke these expulsions and restore primary memberships was made following appeals and in line with the party's directive.
