Khulna: BNP central executive committee member and party-nominated candidate for Khulna-4, Azizul Bari Helal, has raised concerns about the future of Bangladesh, warning that the nation risks becoming a ‘client state’ if governance falls into the hands of an inexperienced party. Helal made these remarks during a series of engagements in Rupsa upazila on Thursday.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Helal participated in various events, including a views-exchange meeting with students and teachers at Al-Aqsa Madrasa, where he initiated a tree-planting campaign under the slogan “One Household, One Tree – Commitment to Greening.” He further engaged with students at Shamsur Rahman Secondary School, continuing his advocacy for environmental sustainability with a similar tree-planting initiative.

Addressing an election rally organized by the BNP Women’s Wing in Jabusar, Helal emphasized the importance of connecting with the electorate. He urged party activists to extend his greetings to local residents, acknowledging the challenges in reaching every household personally. Helal criticized the electoral process of the past 17 years, alleging that voters had been denied their right to choose preferred candidates and accusing a “certain party” of being rejected due to terrorism and fleeing the country.

Helal highlighted the BNP’s experience, noting its four-time governance of Bangladesh, and presented his vision for the future, which includes creating one million jobs for unemployed youth and introducing Family Cards for mothers and Farmer Cards for women in agriculture, should the party be elected to form the next government.

Local leaders including district BNP convener Moniruzzaman Montu, joint conveners Khan Zulfiqar Ali Zulu, Molla Khairul Islam, Sheikh Abdur Rashid, Anisul Rahman, Molla Riazul Islam, Kamran Hasan, and Rupsa upazila BNP leader Molla Saifur Rahman Saif, among others, were present at the events.
