Dhaka: The inauguration ceremony of the newly installed GM 403M Air Defense Radar at the 71st Squadron of the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) was held today, with Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan, Chief of Air Staff of the Bangladesh Air Force, attending as the chief guest. He officially inaugurated the advanced radar system, as announced in an ISPR press release.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, this inauguration is part of the ongoing modernization and development initiatives within the Bangladesh Air Force, which involves the integration of new infrastructures and advanced equipment. The newly installed air defense radar has now been formally added to the operational assets of the Air Force. With the pledge ‘Free shall we keep the sky of Bangladesh,’ this marks a significant advance for the Bangladesh Air Force.
The new radar is expected to play a crucial role in bolstering the air defense capabilities of the Bangladesh Air Force. The incorporation of this advanced radar system is seen as a step towards enhancing the technological prowess of the force. Senior officers from the Armed Forces Division, as well as representatives from the army, navy, and Air Force, were present at the ceremony.
