Dhaka: Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. A. F. M. Khalid Hossain emphasized the significance of human service across all religions, describing it as a noble act during a cheque distribution ceremony for the maintenance of helpless and orphan students. The event was organized by Al Manahil Welfare Foundation Bangladesh at their office in Baridhara.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Khalid highlighted that all major religions, including Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Christianity, emphasize the importance of donation, help, and compassion. He noted that human service is considered a sacred duty across these faiths, fostering qualities such as morality, patience, compassion, and self-sacrifice, which aid in the true development of humanity.

Khalid stressed the role of humanitarian work in cultivating empathy and strengthening social bonds. He remarked that when individuals support one another, it leads to increased unity and brotherhood, helping to maintain social stability and balance.

The adviser also pointed out that mental peace derived from humanitarian efforts surpasses any material gain from wealth or fame. He praised Al Manahil Foundation for its long-standing commitment to humanitarian efforts, including caring for the helpless and orphans, establishing mosques and madrasas, providing clean drinking water, building homes for the homeless, and other charitable activities.

Khalid expressed hope that Al Manahil Foundation would continue its charitable endeavors in the future. During the event, he handed over a cheque valued at TK 370,28,000, provided by the UK-based voluntary organization Imdadul Muslimeen, to representatives of 81 madrasas and orphanages nationwide to support the needs of helpless and orphaned students.

The event was chaired by Foundation’s Chairman Helal Uddin bin Zamir Uddin, with Md. Anwar Hossain, Director (Project-1) of the NGO Affairs Bureau, acting as a special guest. Other dignitaries present included Mahfuzul Haque, Governor of the Islamic Foundation Board of Governors and Secretary General of the Bangladesh Qawmi Madrasa Education Board Befaqul Madarisil Arabia (BEFAQ), along with Hasan Aqil, a representative from Saudi Arabia’s international Islamic NGO, Rabeta Al Alam Al Islami.

Earlier, Khalid also addressed a national conference organized by Shane Sahaba National Khatib Foundation at the BMA Auditorium in Segunbagicha, further underlining his commitment to promoting humanitarian values.
