Dhaka: Eight players shared the lead with maximum two points after the 2nd round of the July Mass Uprising International Rating Chess Competition held at the Youth Tower in Shewrapara in the capital on Friday. The event witnessed stiff competition among seasoned players and rising stars in the world of chess.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, FIDE Master Subrata Biswas, International Master Md. Minhaz Uddin, FIDE Master Sakline Mostafa Sajid, FIDE Master Khandaker Aminul Islam, FIDE Master Sheikh Nasir Ahmed, Anata Choudhury, Tanvir Alam, and Ahnaf Zarif Haque are currently leading the tournament. Meanwhile, FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia, Woman International Master Wadifa Ahmed, and Candidate Master Md Sajidul Haque earned 1.5 points each after the second round.
In the day’s 2nd round, notable results included FIDE Master Subrata Biswas securing a walk-over against Candidate Master Sohel Chowdhury, and International Master Md. Minhaz Uddin defeating Candidate Master Md Jamal Uddin. Other victories w
ere claimed by FIDE Master Sakline Mostafa Sajid, FIDE Master Khandaker Aminul Islam, FIDE Master Sheikh Nasir Ahmed, Anata Choudhury, Tanvir Alam, and Ahnaf Zarif Haque, among others.
