Dhaka: Prime Minister's Political Adviser Nazrul Islam Khan announced today that the government is set to form a Public Administration Reform Commission in the near future, aiming to revamp the current public administration system. "We want to form an Administrative Reform Commission, but if there are ghosts (culprits) and such things in the commission, it will not be able to function properly. It is a little time," Khan stated while addressing questions from journalists at a discussion meeting marking the first 180 days of the government's tenure.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting saw contributions from various government officials, including Prime Minister's Adviser on Public Administration Ismail Zabihullah. Zabihullah emphasized that the government remains committed to the election manifesto regarding the establishment of the Public Administration Reform Commission. "It is working towards that goal. You have seen some processes and some work has already started at the Ministry of Public Administration," he noted, highlighting ongoing efforts to identify and remove individuals from previous administrations who might hinder progress.

Zabihullah further assured that no actions detrimental to the nation would be undertaken, as the administration aims to depoliticize its operations. He mentioned that a report on public administration reform from the interim government has been reviewed, and plans to form the commission are advancing swiftly.

Additionally, Information and Broadcasting Minister Zahir Uddin Swapon revealed that efforts are underway to establish a Media Commission. He remarked that the media's interactions with the Prime Minister have been positive, with no perceived government control or influence. Swapon expressed that forming a Media Commission aligns with both media interests and the government's commitment to institutionalizing the system.

The discussion meeting took place at the International Conference Centre 'Shapla' at the Prime Minister's Office in Tejgaon. It featured presentations and speeches from various government representatives, including statistics on the government's achievements over the past 180 days, presented by Prime Minister's Office Spokesperson Mahdi Amin. The event was moderated by the Prime Minister's Press Secretary Saleh Shibli and attended by state ministers, advisers, special assistants, and other officials from the Prime Minister's Office.
