DHAKA- Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said the government does not have any feud with ex-president HM Ershad-led Jatiya Party and called the launching of a new alliance under their initiative as an "internal matter" of theirs.
"Jatiya Party is not in (Awami League-led) grand alliance from 2014 (though) they are part of our consensus government . . . It is their own decision to constitute a political alliance," he said as approached by newsmen at Bangladesh Secretariat while he emerged from the cabinet meeting.
He, however, described the formation of the Jatiya party-led 58-party alliance as a "political record" which created a "gimmick" and could end with the next general elections.
Asked if any reshuffle in the cabinet was imminent he said "the cabinet did not witness any change for a long time".
"Reshuffle in cabinet might take place but everything depends on the decision of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina," Quader said.
